A Full Day at Disneyland

Get up early and enjoy the Cambria Hotel's free breakfast buffet, then walk outside to pick up the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) shuttle to Disneyland. The bus stop is in front of the hotel on Anaheim Boulevard.
Tickets can be purchased at Cambria's front desk or online. The ART app is especially convenient for families, with everyone in the party collected together under one digital ticket. Shuttles run every 20 minutes.

All buses, shuttles, and rideshares arrive at Disneyland Main Transportation Center, an efficient series of lanes and bus stops in front of the park. Once you depart the bus, you'll spend nearly the rest of the day on foot.

Your first stop is Disney California Adventure, a 72-acre park built on Disneyland's old parking lot. It has a more casual feel, reflecting California culture and iconography.
Top attractions include areas dedicated to Hollywood, the Avengers, and Pixar movies (most notably, a racing track in Cars Land). Definitely make it a priority to visit the raft adventure on Grizzly Peak, and Soarin' Around the World, which simulates a hang-gliding ride in front of a towering high-definition screen.
Buy tickets in advance online and make sure to select a Park Hopper ticket to navigate both the Disney California Adventure and Disneyland parks.

Wine Country Trattoria is Disney California Adventure's best place for lunch. The restaurant takes inspiration from Napa wine country, with an affordable selection of pastas and seafood. Adults can order a glass of wine (an opportunity that isn't commonplace in Disney parks) with Italian or California flights available.
Having a sit-down restaurant is a nice alternative to the on-the-go offerings elsewhere in the park. Inquire about reservations online. The best seats are on the courtyard patio. The service team knows how to handle large crowds and will keep your order moving along in an efficient manner once you are seated.

When you're ready, walk over to neighbouring Disneyland, which is divided into subsections like Adventureland, Fantasyland, and the newer Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Lines can get long for iconic rides like It's a Small World, Space Mountain, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, so take advantage of Disney Genie, an app that helps navigate wait times. Pay a little extra and skip ahead in Lightning Lanes, a system that replaces the old FastPass service (and is totally worth it).
Doing both parks in one day is most effective when avoiding holidays, weekends, and whenever children are out of school. It also requires a Park Hopper pass (available online), which allows you to enter the second park any time after 1:00 p.m.

When it's time to eat, head to the Blue Bayou Restaurant, one of the best places for a proper dinner inside the Disneyland Park. The menu is inspired by the cuisine of New Orleans, with gumbo and jambalaya regularly featured.
The restaurant is located in New Orleans Square and has views of boats drifting by on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Demand is high for dinner, so do your best to make a reservation in advance.

Disneyland takes on a magical ambiance after dark, especially when around Sleeping Beauty Castle or the Haunted Mansion. The nightly Electrical Parade rolls down Main Street at 8:45 p.m, but those with a Park Hopper pass can return to Disney California Adventure for World of Color at 9:00 p.m.
It's a fascinating water show on the "wharf" at Paradise Gardens Park, inspired in part by Fantasia. Fireworks are at 9:30 p.m. Always check in advance for exact times, which can fluctuate throughout the year.

Return to the Main Transportation Center to pick up an ART shuttle back to the Cambria Hotel. Your wait will be no longer than 20 minutes.

A full day of Disney enchantment can be exhausting. Return to your hotel room and get a good night's rest. Tomorrow, you head to the coast.
