You’re now going to discover Korenlei, a street along the canal. It’s a beautiful spot to admire the beautiful building that secretly holds Ghent's best-kept secrets. Enjoy the beauty of the place and take some pictures.

During the walk, you’ll see the Grasbrug, a well-known bridge that locals are very proud of. Cross the river and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

Despite its renovation, the Mariott Hotel's façade still showcases two swans swimming in opposite directions. In the 16th century, it was called "De Swaene" and was a house of pleasure. The swan swimming to the left was the symbol of women, and the one swimming to the right referred to drinks.

Symbol of the city’s autonomy and independence, the Belfry of Ghent was built in the 14th century. The impressive building used to serve as a watchtower to protect the city but also as an alarm bell and, after that, an hourly bell that gave rhythm to city life.
The visit to the belfry includes entry to the museum, which retraces the history of the city, and you can go all the way up to enjoy the magnificent 360° view over the city. You can choose to walk up there with interactive intermediary stops, or there is a lift.

It’s not possible to book in advance. The best way to proceed is to go to this meeting point and see which tour is about to start.
