    Tmol Shilshom

    Tmol Shilshom

Prepare for a small trip. We will spend the whole day in Jerusalem. The city, which is more than 4000 years old.
Start the day with normal food. Do not eat much in Tel Aviv, we will have plenty of food in Jerusalem!
Tmol Shilshom has been a favorite among locals for many years, and they understand the food!

    Jaffa Gate (שער יפו)

We will walk around the old city. Today we will visit the sights, and the shopping will leave for tomorrow not to be in a rush.

Old City of Jerusalem (העיר העתיקה)

It does not matter whether you are a believer or not, the Temple of the Sepulcher is the first place you need to visit.
Do not pay attention to vanity and the problems that accompanied the history of the Temple. It’s nothing compared to the importance of the place for a person who believes in Jesus.

Church of the Holy Sepulchre (כנסיית הקבר)

Whether you are a believer or not, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is the first place you should visit.
Pay no attention to the hustle and bustle. For the strife that has accompanied the history of the Temple. All of this is the vanity of the world next to the most important place for the person who believes that Jesus is risen.

The Western Wall (Kotel) (הכותל המערבי)

The Wall of Tears is the remains of the Jewish Temple. You know, you can believe in miracles or not, but if there is God, this is the place where you can find God.
You don’t believe in the fulfilment of desires? Believe me. Put a note on the Wall and ask. Read the prayer if you can, and if you don’t - then your dream will come true anyway.

    Hummus Lina (חומוס לינא)

Okay, today we have already walked a lot. Are you tired? Let's go and eat something.
Hummus Lina is a great place for lunch. Order hummus, you will not find it tastier than the one offered here.

    Damascus Gate (שער שכם)

Perhaps the most beautiful gate of Jerusalem. Several times it was destroyed and rebuilt. The present was built by the Sultan Suleiman – the husband of the Hurrem-Roksolana.
The gate leads to the Muslim quarter of Old Jerusalem.

    Pool of Bethesda (בריכות הצאן)

A large swimming pool, which is divided by a wall into two parts. It would seem that there’s nothing unusual, but here is the Gospel quotation, which tells the story:
"Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.".
A 38 years old paralysed person lay here. Jesus healed him passing by.

    Lions' Gate

Okay, you're not paralysed from fatigue yet? Then there is nothing to stand and wait for. It's time to move on to the Lion’s Gate, which used to be called the Sheep Gate.
Lion's Gate was also built by Suleiman the Magnificent. His father Selim once had a terrible dream that the lions want to eat him for his decision to destroy Jerusalem.
And although Sultan Selim was аormidable, he was frightened and promised the lions to protect the city by building a new wall around it.
Selim himself did not have time to do this, so Suleiman had to fulfil his vow.
However, there are several other legends telling about why the gates were built.

    Garden of Gethsemane (גת שמנים)

Or the Garden of Gethsemane. The place where Jesus prayed the night before the betrayal of Judas. He already knew everything and waited for the inevitable to happen.
First He asks to pass it by. Then, if this is the will of God, he accepts suffering. Then he gets up and goes into the hands of the traitor.
There are eight very old olives in the Garden of Gethsemane. It is possible that they were in the time of Jesus. Find them. In the Church of all nations, there is also the stone on which Christ prayed that night.

    Mount of Olives (הר הזיתים)

They say that Jesus should come here at the Second Coming, because from here he ascended. From this place will begin the resurrection of the dead, so the cemetery on the southern slope is in big demand.
Burials began here a thousand years before our era, even the Old Testament characters are buried here.
Walk around. If you still have strength, visit the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin.

Humus Ben Sira (חומוס בן סירא)

I said that the most delicious hummus is in Hummus Lina? It is possible that this is not exactly true.
Better find out yourself! Dine at Humus Ben Sira, and take out your verdict!

    Wineberg ויינברג

Near the hotel, there is a small wine bar. A glass of wine – no more, a small snack after a hard day. Sit here and rest. It’s a very pleasant place.
