    Utah and Zion National Park

Today's route includes a drive through Zion National Park, so be prepared to pay the entrance fee. Also, be sure to make reservations for horse riding at Zion National Park! This allows car entry into the park (instead of relying on the shuttle) and is an excellent way to experience the park's sheer cliffs of Navajo sandstone.

Continue your drive on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive if in your car, or catch the shuttle from the Lodge to the Temple of Sinawava.
Here you'll find the trailhead to the Virgin River Walk. This is also where the iconic Narrows hike begins, winding along the shores of the Virgin River as the high canyon walls get narrower and narrower. This is an easy – and magnificent – one-mile out-and-back hike, and, if you get warm, feel free to take a dip in the river. You'll know when you reach the Narrows trailhead, as the trail will terminate at the river's edge and hikers will be hiking with hiking sticks through the water.
Feel free to try your hand at walking through the river water, but make sure you are aware of any closures or safety issues that may prevent safe, seasonal hiking there.
