This hiking trail with stunning views above Punta Lobos can be directly accessed from the hotel. They will happily guide you should you need assistance.

Tortugueros research and conservation centre is an excellent choice for getting out on the water and spotting marine life, while also helping local fishermen support their families.
This tour, in panga fishing boats, runs year-round, but what you'll observe, from turtles, whales, dolphins, and sea lions, depends on the month and mating season.
From December to March, you'll have the best luck at spotting humpbacks and grey whales as they migrate up the coast in small groups.

Remote and beckoning, with ocean on both sides, are the impressive sand dunes of Mogote.
While perhaps not so tall from a distance, you'll be awed close up with the natural beauty as golden sand meets crystalline blue sea.
Bring plenty of water as there are no services, just pristine sand, cacti, and dunes.
The road is better with a 4x4, but small cars won't have any issues either.
