A Day in America's Oldest City

This is an agriculture-centric trip, and there’s no better place to start than at Lineage Coffee. After grabbing a perfect cup of coffee, spend some time meandering the East End Market that houses Lineage, where there are food, shops, and other pop-up vendors to check out.

Visit this beautiful lighthouse and museum to learn more about the rich colonial history of Florida's Atlantic coast. Named for Antonio Pons, among the earliest colonists of the area, this location has had historical significance since the 1700s. To learn more and plan a tour, visit the museum website. After the museum, stop anywhere along the coast for a beautiful spot to stretch your legs.

Ask a St. Augustine local where you should go to eat, and there's a great chance they'll say Sunset Grille. Rich and delicious seafood dishes pair well with classic bar offerings to create a quintessential coastal restaurant. Sitting out on the patio for a late lunch is the perfect way to experience this classic.
Sunset Grille is open from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday to Thursday, and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

After lunch, you’ll have enough time to make a thorough visit to America's oldest brick fort. Built by the Spanish to defend the Atlantic trade, this well-preserved landmark is striking to tour. Watch your step as the walls are steep! You can explore the fortress anytime, and there are musket and cannon demonstrations on the weekend.
The monument is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Time to visit some of the most pristine beaches in the state at Anastasia State Park. This gem of a coastal park includes beautiful white sand, rich history, and wildlife. There are a variety of exciting activities you can do at Anastasia, such as hiking, biking, swimming, paddling, fishing, and more. Also, the park rangers host excellent bird watching events, so it’s a great idea to correspond your visit with one of these. Events, bookings, and more information can be found here. The park closes at sunset.

Preserved, so named for the beautifully maintained Jefferson House in St. Augustine, is so much more than a historical building. This fine dining experience flaunts a fresh, seasonal menu with terrific seafood and excellent cuts of meat. If you like oysters, Preserved is the place to get them.
