    Weeki Wachee Springs State Park

    Park
    Open Details
Weeki Wacche is a word from the Seminole Indians that means “little river”. This beautiful state park is beautiful and entertaining for the whole family and has been a local favourite for years. These springs have one of the most extensive and deepest underwater cave systems in the United States. At the park, you can watch mermaids swim underwater with incredible shows that run three times a day, or rent gear for the family to go kayaking, snorkelling, or stand up paddleboarding. The kids will want to spend most of their time in a waterpark that uses natural spring water as its background. Here you can rent cabanas that include chairs, tubes, and umbrellas. The springs also have a food pavilion where you can purchase your meals. You’ll be surrounded by nature and wildlife as you swim in the springs, but don’t worry about running into an alligator – they prefer dark marshy waters.
No matter what you do within the park, it’s best to get there as soon as the park opens. You cannot purchase tickets in advance, so everything is on a first-come, first-served basis. Even the entrance to the park. You must be with your entire party at the moment of entry and, once you are in, you are not guaranteed re-entry if you leave the park. You can pay with credit cards, but cash is a better option to have in case the signal in the park isn’t the strongest. But a visit to this park is absolutely worth the wait and the early drive!
