Still, it’s worth a visit: you can walk around the beautiful streets, visit the Place de la Fontaine, an elegant square in the centre of the village, and enjoy the picturesque buildings.

It’s time to have lunch and relax, and you’re going to do so at Le Café du Coin, in Manosque. This café has a pleasant atmosphere, good food, and fast, courteous service.

This beautiful church will transport you across centuries of history. The stained glass windows are magnificent, as is the cross from the 16th century, formerly displayed outside the church. It’s also the home of the oldest black Madonna in France.

The most popular attraction in Manosque is this old gate. The town still preserves four of them but this is the most beautiful one and where the salt was kept during medieval times. It’s also famous for its four bronze hands.

On the top of Sisteron village, you’ll find this fortress from the Middle Ages, with the older parts of it dating back to the 11th century. From here you’ll have spectacular views of the medieval village. During your visit, you can learn more about the history of Sisteron and life back in those days.
