The Delights of Cap Corse
This day will be spent exploring the Cap Corse peninsula; one of the most beautiful parts of the island. The villages are picturesque, the beaches are gorgeous, and the views are to die for. Throw in some Genoese towers and it’s the perfect day out.

Domain Montemagni
Food
Patrimonio was the first wine region in Corsica to obtain the “designation of origin” in 1968 and has been producing some of the island’s best wines since then. The Montemagni family has been making wine here since 1850, and you can visit the cellars of this old winery to sample and purchase some of their whites, reds, or rosés (no appointment is necessary).

Torra di Nonza
History
Nonza is “officially” one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France – and deservedly so. Perched seemingly precariously on a cliff, with the dramatic black beach below, the best way to enjoy the beauty of this village is on foot.
Starting from here, walk to Fontaine de Sainte Julie (the fountain), across from which are narrow stone steps that lead all the way down to the black pebbled beach. Walk North along the beach until you come to a building, where another series of steps wind their way back up to the village through old lemon gardens. The walk takes around an hour.

Plage de Barcaggio
Natural
Park here and follow the path east to the lovely Barcaggio beach. It’s an easy 15-minute stroll. With its fine white sand and aquamarine water, it’s an ideal chill out spot. Don’t be surprised, though, if you have to share your space with a couple of cows. For some reason, this is their favourite beach too.

Torra Ghjenuvese d'Erbalunga
History
Driving down the east side of Cap Corse, you'll pass several towers. These are defensive towers, built by the Genoese. When pirate ships were sighted, the Torregiani, the tower guards, raised the alarm by lighting fires, sending a signal to the guards of the next tower who did the same, letting the whole region know that danger was ahead. D'Erbalunga Tower is also a good place for a photo stop.
