    Senado Square (議事亭前地)

The first day begins with the famous Senado Square, named after the Leal Senado building. Since the opening of Macao to trade, the square has served as the center of social life, and it is still a popular place for public events. The square is paved with cobblestones with typical Portuguese ornaments and the buildings are built in a neoclassical style in pastel colors. This allows you to feel the southern European flavor, but in general you can already feel the influence of Chinese culture in this place.

    St. Augustine's Church (聖奧斯定教堂)

The Church of St. Augustine, located on the square of the same name, has had a very turbulent history. It has been destroyed several times and rebuilt several times. It is also surrounded by other historic buildings, such as the Royal Theater of Don Pedro V, the Seminary of St. Joseph and the Library of Sir Robert Ho Tuna. Here you are sure to get a sense of the Portuguese quiet streets.

    Boa Mesa

As we continue to learn more about Portuguese culture, we should also talk about its cuisine. What can tell us more about this or that cuisine than the food itself? It's time to rest and refresh yourself to see some more interesting things!

    Lou Kau Mansion (盧家大屋)

The mansion is believed to have been built in 1889. Here lived Low Kau, a famous Chinese merchant who owned several impressive properties in the city. The location of this stately old house reflects the diverse social character present in the center of the old, "Christian city," where this traditional Chinese residence is located next to Senado Square and Cathedral Square. The Lou Kau Mansion is a two-story traditional gray brick house with a courtyard, the architectural design of which is typical of a Chinese apartment building. Please note that this museum is open until 6 p.m., the ticket office closes at 5:30 p.m., and Monday is a day off.

Sam Kai Vui Kun (Kuan Tai Temple) (三街會館)

The ancient Buddhist temple of Sam Kai Wui-Kun, built in 1792, is a symbol of the centuries-old coexistence in Macau of two cultures, Portuguese and Chinese, two religions, Buddhism and Catholicism. Sam Kai Wuyi-Kun is an amazing place. It is built in the midst of a European neighborhood, but it fully embodies all the principles of Chinese culture.
