Only a few kilometres from Ottrott is Mont Sainte-Odile. There you’ll find the monastery of Sainte-Odile, dedicated to the patron saint of Alsace. Be sure to visit the tomb of Saint Odilia, the Chapel of Tears, and the Chapel of Angels. The panoramic terrace is especially worth a visit. From there you have a magnificent panoramic view of the plain of Alsace, which extends to the Rhine.

Biebrich Palace in Wiesbaden is located directly on the Rhine. It’s one of the most impressive castles on the Rhine. Nowadays, the castle is used for events. If you're out and about on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, a visit to the Gutsausschank at the Hamm Winery in Oestrich-Winkel is well worth it. Sample the wines from the estate's own vineyard over a meal of Rheingau specialties. You can enjoy the wonderful ambience of the winery in the cosy Gutsstube, in the Patrizierhaus and, in summer, in the pretty courtyard as well. Ask to be shown the ancient wine cellar where wine delicacies mature.
