Florida’s Treasure Coast and the Colourful City of Miami

Stay on A1A as much as you can for the scenic route down the coast until you reach Miami, the most energetic city in the state. You'll start on the Treasure Coast and spend some time at the beach, where you’ll snorkel around shipwrecks and explore the surrounding areas.
Once you continue down A1A, stay on the scenic route until you get close to the Miami area. Make stops in the beautiful Wynwood Arts District and admire murals from artists all over the world, and then head to Miami’s traditional Cuban neighbourhood for incredible flavours and end your evening back on the beach.

If you ever wanted to get close to a shipwreck, this is your chance. While it's not the Spanish ships that sunk here centuries ago, it's an excellent reminder for boats to stay away from the coast. At low tide, you can even see the tip of the ship from the beach.
Right outside the hotel, you can rent kayaks and paddleboards or take the goggles you purchased from the surf shop to get into the water. If it's not too crowded, you might see some tropical fish, stingrays, and sea turtles. The waters are calm and shallow enough for you to go out on your own, but excellent guided tours are also available.

A1A is a highway that you must spend your time driving along. This highway was first built in 1926 and was made to bring in more tourists to Florida. So, naturally, this highway was built for road trippers like you.
Today the majority of this highway runs through cities and small towns, so you’ll have a chance to see beautiful beach-front residences. Between Palm Beach and Delray Beach, the road is quiet and definitely worth driving down. After your visit to Sandoway Discovery Center, you can still continue A1A towards Miami but, as the cities get bigger, so does the traffic.
